Episode #5: Roland Mubenga

Goal Setting, Motivation, Adherence

Episode

In this episode, I discuss motivation and goal setting with PT @fitbyro_ Roland Mubenga. After briefly introducing himself, Roland starts talking about the importance of goal setting. We touch upon SMART goals, and why that ‘SMART’ acronym is so important (in particular, we dwell on why a goal should be ‘meaningful’ and ‘relevant’ to be achieved). Then we move on to briefly discuss some literature on goal setting and motivation, and we begin to talk about effective strategies to motivate clients, as well as about the importance of finding intrinsic motivation to achieve a goal. We also freely chat about different lifestyles, food experiments and the role of social media in motivation.
